I CHOOSE

I CHOOSE TO BELIEVE GOD
ABOUT WHO I AM

There are many voices out in the world around us. As a result, we each have choices to make about who or what we will believe.  The Bible, the Word of God, is full of Truth and wonderful promises. We can either choose to believe God, our loving Creator and the Maker of the universe or we can choose to believe someone or something else. But in the end, for better or for worse, our life will depend on the choices we make.

Below is a link to a thought provoking presentation by Christian children and teens on their identity and what they choose to believe about themselves. Each child chooses an IDENTITY theme, a LIE that challenges that theme, a TRUTH of the Bible and SCRIPTURES that overcome that lie, and then makes a CHOICE about who and what to believe.

With all the lies in the world directed toward children and teens, it is critical for children, teens, and adults to know where to turn to for the Truth. Our concept of ourself will largely determine 1) what we do and 2) who we ultimately become. Understanding the Truth about their identity in Christ can help children know they are God's special creation, each with a purpose and a hope and many promises of God they can count on. Knowing and choosing to believe what God says about them can protect children from succumbing to depression, anxiety, peer pressure, fear, poor choices, and even suicide. In addition, it can help them fulfill their God-given potential and purpose.

We hope you enjoy the video and reflect on the how the same principles can be applied to all of our lives in so many situations. There is power and Truth in the Word of God. We hope you, like the children in the video, will Choose to Believe God and what He says in His Word!

VIdeo was recorded at Abundant Life Church of God by photographer Spencer Fields.

Following is a sample of a two sided poster the children decorated and used in the presentation. First the child reads only the small print on the top of side 1 while displaying the LIE of side 2 to the congregation. Then he flips the poster to show the other side with the TRUTH to the congregation, while he reads only the small print on the side he sees.

POSTER A SIDE ONE - With the TRUTH  "God Loves Me"
Child sees this side and only reads small print at top to audience while displaying opposite side to them with the LIE that "Nobody loves me."

Meanwhile audience sees this side

POSTER A SIDE 2 - Child flips the poster so the audience sees the TRUTH side and then the child sees and reads only the small print on the top of this side shown below. Now the audience sees and hears about the TRUTH and the scriptures about how "God loves me."

Meanwhile the audience sees this side
